Three Ways I Was Inspired By Meeting Marc Scibilia

Here’s something that really inspired me this week and I believe it will inspire you as well.

A few days ago I got to spend some time with Marc Scibilia on his world tour. We went to go see him for his concert, but right before that we spent some time in the backstage area, and I was just blown away by his story.

We were so engaged in our conversations that we completely forgot to take the mandatory pictures!

These three things really inspired me and challenged me to apply the same principles to my life and leadership…

Authenticity

Marc displays a realness and a rawness that draws you in into this grand story that gets really messy at times, but still is so so beautiful.

Innovation

2020: a year that many of us were getting stuck in so many ways, and here’s Marc completely reinventing himself. If you don’t know who he is, he is the absolute king of ‘live looping.’ It was amazing to see him do that live on stage as well.

Perseverance

Marc told us this story of how he moved out when he was about 18 years old, wanting to write and play music professionally, which took him to many amazing places, but also some really hard places. And here he is, 20 years later, and things have just blown up for him in unimaginable ways very recently.

Marc kept telling us, “I just can’t get over the fact that people actually show up for my shows. Getting to play here is one thing, but when I walk out onto that stage and there’s actually people in the room, that feels insane to me. It honestly, literally is just insane.”

“I just can’t get over the fact that people actually show up for my shows.”

It is that beautiful combination of…

  1. Perseverance,
  2. Innovation, and
  3. Authenticity…

… that took him where he is today, having gone from his homestudio in Nashville to ‘taking his studio to the stage,’ and performing live in front of massive audiences worldwide.

Marc, you inspire me!

And for anyone else reading this, go check him out, I think you will be inspired as well.
