Are you Lenting?

As the subtitle says, my book ‘Sinning on Sundays’ helps provide tools for a ‘little less religious Lent for leaders.’

‘Forty days of prayer, fasting and giving in anticipation of Resurrection Sunday!’

In the midst of our fast-paced world, high-impact leaders are turning to the timeless traditions of Lent for inspiration, renewal, and purpose. Miranda Tollenaar writes about this growing trend among younger leaders in the foreword of my book.

Here’s some of what you will find as far as reasons why Lent is gaining popularity among leaders who are making waves in their spheres of influence:

Renewed Focus

Lent offers leaders a sacred space to pause, reflect, and realign their priorities. In a world filled with distractions, Lent beckons leaders to journey inward, rediscovering their core values, and deepening their connection with God and people around them.

Empowerment through Sacrifice

Through the discipline of fasting and sacrifice, leaders learn about the power of resilience, discipline, and self-control. By letting go of the unnecessary, leaders make room for the essential, cultivating a heart of abundance and gratitude that propels them forward in their leadership journey.

Community and Support

Lent fosters a sense of community and solidarity among leaders, providing a platform for shared experiences, mutual support, and collaborative growth. Together, leaders find strength in vulnerability, wisdom in diversity, and encouragement in unity as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of leadership.

What about yourself? Have you participated in Lent before? Would you consider joining this Lent, by reading my book Sinning on Sundays by yourself, with your team, or together with other leaders?

“Ash Wednesday is full of joy… The sources of all sorrow is the illusion that of ourselves we are anything but dust.”
